 In Italy 1930s, Soviet Union 60s, China 60s, Cuba 60s, VietNam 60s ... the state became parentus locus - the state became the parent.  It is the way of totalitarian states.  All. of. them.  You insert the state in place of parent and the biological parent is simply the birther but not the parent.  Parents become secondary to the state in power/authority over the child and in deciding what is best for the child.  In. all. cases!  

Sometimes parents get it wrong, but that is the nature of parenting.  When the state gets it wrong, the state doesn't get it wrong - you're simply not seeing it correctly.  When the state educates the populace to report anyone who speaks or acts against the state - it isn't the state that is wrong, you, if you question it, are the agitator.  Always.

Scientists tell us that our brains are not fully formed until we are 25.  Until then the brain is developing.  I (personally) would therefore oppose psychotropic medications to anyone under 25.  However, I don't decide these things, parents do so ... 

And that is the point - parents should decide for 'their children'.  Where parents are not invlved, the law decides as in the case of the age of consent.  19 states allow 16 year olds unfettered control over their bodies - to have sex at least.  In a few states it is 13 !!  as long as the older person is less than 4 years older.  So a 13 year old and a 15 year old would be ok.  In fact, in Connecticut, a 12 year old can have sex as long as the other person is less than 2 years older ... so 14 would be ok.  In California and Arizona, it is 18.  It is 21 to drink in all 50 states.  It is 18 to vote.  It is 15-16 to drive.  


Why then do you believe anyone under those ages should be able to decide to change their gender.  To change without possibility of ever returning to their birth gender ... to change their lives inextricably forever ... and they don't have to be 15 or 16 or 17, and certainly don't have to be 18 or older.  They can be much younger.  Why is that ok.  Why does a parent not have any control over that aspect of their child's life?  Why.  Yet, if that kid goes out and takes their father's handgun and shoots someone, the parents can be charged as a responsible party. 

Those who argue that a 12 or 13 year old should be able to begin a sex change and not tell their parents and the school must keep it a secret ... yet, the parent must sign for their truancy or sign them out of school as they cannot simply just sign themselves out ... but they can make a change far more significant than voting or driving or having sex.  

Amazing.  If you cannot see the moral hole you have descended into, you are to be pitied, along with anyone else who falls into your orbit.  It is a rationale that is not limited to gender reassignment or sex change or a child having sex ... it becomes the basis for so many other dangerous paths.  When parents lose their rights to oversee and control their child's life, when they are children, the disaster is materializing before our eyes and some cannot see it.  They only see possible votes and a misguided value system they believe extols the virtue of personal liberty.


Liberty without responsibility is neither freedom nor responsible.

And now that the evidence has had time to accumulate, it’s also become clear that the extravagant promises made by anti-smoking groups—that implementing bans would bring about extraordinary improvements in cardiac health—never materialized. Newer, better studies with much larger sample sizes have found little to no correlation between smoking bans and short-term incidence of heart attacks, and certainly nothing remotely close to the 60 percent reduction that was claimed in Helena. The updated science debunks the alarmist fantasies that were used to sell smoking bans to the public, allowing for a more sober analysis suggesting that current restrictions on smoking are extreme from a risk-reduction standpoint.
