Too Hot
Aircraft do not usually (civilian) fly at temperatures above 124 degrees Fahrenheit. This is most common in Phoenix where they ground aircraft until temperatures fall below that temperature. Too hot.
It is also the flip side - when temperatures hit below -69 Fahrenheit ... which means wind chill plus temperature and that means it is possible to reach -69 .... it becomes dangerous to fly.
And now, I learn that trains don't work well either in heat -
I might wonder ... ok, so if it is 100 degrees a train can't run well, but why 15 minutes. It could be 12 or 20 minutes. Does heat just slow you down 15 minutes?
Trains and planes don't work in heat. I would assume cars might very well avoid that as well and stay indoors.
We are the most technologically advanced civilization that has existed but when it gets to be 90-100 degrees everything stops.
It is interesting that in all past years, it has reached at times, well over 110 for periods of time and I do not recall anything about trains.
